It is with a heavy heart that today I enclose my Sears Card, cut in half. I am no longer going to patronize your company.
My family and I have recently fallen on very hard financial times. As a result, I have had a hard time having funds for utility bills and food for my family, let alone for my credit card payments.
Two weeks ago, a woman from your company called my about $20.00 that I was past due. On the phone, she told me that I was not a very good person because I couldn’t pay my bills, and how could she trust me? I demanded to speak to a superviser, and she refused.
Today, I received another harassing call. I didn’t even allow this person the time to get insulting, I ended the call abrupty and called back to close my account. I wanted it on record that I was closing my account because of harassment and insults given to me by your collections department.
I remember a lawsuit several years back, where Sears was forced to pay its cardmembers back due to similar tactics by your credit card department. I never did get to spend the $4.00 that I got from the settlement. It is truly disturbing to see that your company learned nothing from that experience, and has gone back to its old ways.
I regret having to take this step, but I refuse to spend money with a company that treats its loyal customers this way.
